Whenever people talk about the vintage clothes, the victorian style will always the first one to come to the mind. The most representative picture is a woman wearing a long dress of silk and organdy and holding a parasol.
During the victorian period, clothes were not only intended to look attractive, but were cut in detail to form a classic silhouette. In the early period, women love to form the full figure which could be achieved through the ball gowns. In the later period, women favor hour glass figure and the silhouette becomes more fitted.
Other than the dresses, there are still some clothes women may wear under the dress. Those dresses and stockings were cut in different styles to flaunt the figure in a modest way. The undergarments/corsets usually had whale bones to give the desired shape to the dress.
Victorian style is one most well known for its vintage feel. And the above I mentioned and the pictures posted are the most representative victorian fashion during that period.
